Member States have reached agreement on the text of the historic Pandemic Treaty at the World Health Organization in Geneva, an achievement that marks a major step forward in global cooperation.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to equity and coordinated action to prepare for, prevent, and respond to future pandemics, with important provisions on R&D, supply chains, the health workforce, and Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing (PABS). It’s also the first global health treaty grounded in a One Health approach, recognizing the deep interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health.

We salute Member States for choosing cooperation over nationalism and for their unified voice in support of multilateralism.
